The first three pictures show a very young Woodland Trust "Woods on Your Doorstep" Millennium community wood, Bonney Doles at Lambley in Nottinghamshire. Like many of the Millennium woods, Bonney Doles was sited as a feature on walks from the village, only accessible by footpaths. ![]() In his critique of this website, Mr Macmillan wonders whether the photographs which follow have been "carefully selected", implying that I have avoided showing some substantial areas of weedkiller devastation on Woodland Trust sites. I can only reply that this is not the case, and I challenge him to find any Woodland Trust site where weedkiller either (a) defoliates more than small patches of the total area in the short term, or (b) leaves any visible "scar" or reduces biodiversity in the long term |
